If you're researching wrinkle relaxers, you've probably come across several brand names — Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, Jeuveau. At SEA Medical Wellness, we offer two of these: Xeomin® and Jeuveau®. Here's a neutral look at how they compare.
What they have in common
Xeomin and Jeuveau are both FDA-approved neuromodulators. They work the same way: a small amount of the product is injected into a targeted facial muscle, where it temporarily blocks the nerve signals that cause that muscle to contract. Less muscle movement means the overlying skin creases less, which softens the appearance of expression lines — most commonly on the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes.
Both are administered the same way (a series of small injections), have a similar treatment time, and a similar general side-effect profile (mild redness or swelling at the injection site is possible with either).
Where they differ
The meaningful differences between neuromodulator products come down to their formulation — the specific molecule structure and any additional proteins included in the product — which can influence things like onset time and how the body responds to it over repeated use.
